Melanotan 2 (MT-2) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Unlike MT-1, MT-2 is a cyclic peptide which gives it different receptor binding characteristics. It acts as a non-selective agonist at melanocortin receptors including MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R.
